The African Health Research, Innovation and Development Alliance (AHRIDA), a pan-African movement for health research, development and innovation (RD&I) advocacy, was launched during the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC) on 3 March 2025 in Kigali, Rwanda.
For over a decade, African advocacy coalitions have been championing a sustainably resourced health RD&I ecosystem in an enabling environment with policies that support innovation and access to life-saving health technologies. The launch of AHRIDA brings these efforts together, positioning African-led health RD&I as a continental economic driver and key contributor to advancements in global health progress.
